The International Banking Certification - Intermediate (IBCI) offered by The London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) is a Level 4 professional qualification that builds on foundational banking knowledge, specializing in critical functions within international finance. Unit 2 (Choice of ONE) Specialist Optional Unit Choose ONE from: Retail & Digital Banking (RETB), Corporate Banking (CORB), Investment Banking & Markets (INVB), Risk and Credit (RSCR), or Compliance (COMP). Allows for deep specialization aligned with job role or career ambition.
• Understand the Breadth of Banking Functions (Core): Interpret a bank's balance sheet and profit and loss statements, identify major risk types (credit, operational, market), understand the regulatory environment, and evaluate key banking products and services.
• Deepen Specialization (Optional Unit): Acquire specialized, role-specific knowledge in one of the five core banking functions: Retail and Digital Banking, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Markets, Risk and Credit, or Compliance.
• Apply Financial Concepts: Formulate opinions on the suitability of financial solutions for specific customer situations and demonstrate strong numeracy skills in analyzing financial reports and assessing credit risk.
